Vampires, Black Witchcraft, and Zombies, Oh My!

I recently discovered some particular audiences have been viewing my blog—folks who are into vampires, black witchcraft, and the dead. Seriously. So not what I intended (no offense to those who are from said audiences—so y’all play nice—no whodoo, voodo, or showing of fangs, thank you very much). I mean, I write YA, women’s fiction, and nonfiction. Why would they visit me?

Hey, maybe it's because of my sparkling personality?

Okay, scratch that.

On the other hand, I recently penned a supernatural suspense novel, so they could have Googled supernatural and then stumbled here because of that. They may not be interested in my book at all.

But because of the hundreds of hits I’ve been receiving, it got me to thinking (which is dangerous, I know), so I decided I didn’t want to ignore their visits. I mean, we’re all people, right? It’s not God’s will that any of us perish.

So I said to myself, Self, what can you write that would minister to these precious souls?

Well, since I’m not the most brilliant bulb in the light socket, and because I know nothing about their views and lifestyles, I decided to post something far better than I could ever come up with. In fact, I read this on a regular basis (I'll get to it, I promise). And any of you can have this same hedge of protection. Want to know how?

How, Deb, tell us how.

Thank you, I’m glad you asked.

Renounce all other gods, all works of darkness (including white witchcraft, no cheating), and accept Jesus Christ into your hearts. Have a personal relationship with him. He’s the only way. His name is above all names, in heaven, and Earth, and things under the Earth. (Talk about power! Can you imagine?)

So no matter where you’re at or what you’ve done, you can still come to him. He's waiting, arms outstretched, because he loves you. He paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life for you, by shedding his blood. All you have to do is ask the Lord to forgive you of all of your sins (we've all sinned and fallen short, trust me), ask Jesus into your heart, and live your life for him. It's not always easy, but the outcome is eternal life. How cool is that?

Okay, sorry for rambling, but I wanted you to know how important you are to God.

Here's the reading I promised you. Thanks for visiting!

Psalm 91 (Holy Bible, KJV)

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”
